Itinerary of Pottery Village and Brass Artisans Tour

In this tour, we will take you to Kakran Pottery Village, Dhamrai Brass Artisans area, and National Martyrs Monument inclusive of a short boat ride.

Our guide will meet you in your hotel lobby or airport in the morning. Leaving Dhaka and this tour will start with a visit to the National Martyrs Monument in Savar. National Martyrs Monument built to pay tribute to the people who were killed by the Pakistan army during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. The natural setup of the surroundings of the site and the architectural design of the monument has got extraordinary attraction.

Afterward, we will move to Nayarhat and will take a short boat trip (1-2 hours) to reach the pottery village in Kakran. And where you will amaze to see some beautiful pottery works and potters, who are still working denying the most modern technological equipment from many of their generations. Have an authentic lunch at a local restaurant.

Then you will move to Dhamrai to see the famous brass artisans at work. These Artistic Brassworks have been inherited because of this village since the pala dynasty or 7th century AD. Here you can visit the interesting ‘Hindu Rath’ that is the same as the Roman Chariot.

The National Martyr’s Monument in Savar (30 km from Dhaka). In the nearby place Dhamrai, famous for its brass artisans, you can observe the making of various traditional utensils and religious objects.

Potter

 During the Bengali month of Ashar (June-July) the colorful Hindu festival ‘Ratha Jatra’ takes place here. The large ‘Rath’, similar to a Roman chariot, can be seen throughout the year.

On the way back we will stop at the beautiful Jahangir Nagar Universityampus, famous for the flocks of migratory birds visiting the many lakes in winter.

Reach Dhaka in the late afternoon.

  • In the morning we will meet you at your hotel lobby or the Airport.
  • We will start journey to National Martyrs Monument Saver.
  • Afterward, we will move to Nayarhat and will take a short boat trip (1-2 hours) to reach the pottery village in Kakran.
  • Have an authentic lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Then you will move to Dhamrai to see the famous brass artisans at work.
  • On the way back we will stop at the beautiful Jahangir Nagar University campus. it’s famous for the flocks of migratory birds visiting many lakes in the winter.

  • Back to Dhaka in the late afternoon.

Remarks for Dhaka city tour

➤ Pottery making activities are closed from 14 April to 14 May.

 

➤ You are required to wear modest clothing while entering in a mosque or temple.
