In this tour we will take you to Kakran Pottery Village, Dhamrai Brass Artisans area and National Martyrs Monument inclusive of a short boat ride.
Our guide will meet you on your hotel lobby or airport at morning. Leaving Dhaka andthis tour will start with a visit to the National Martyrs Monument in Savar which was built to pay tribute to the people who was killed during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971. The natural setup of the surroundings of the site and the architectural design of the monument has got extra ordinary attraction.
After wards we will proceed to Nayarhat and will take short boat trip (1/2 hours) to reach a pottery village in Kakran where you will amazed to see some special pottery works who are still survived denying the most modern technological development from many of their generation. Have an authentic lunch at a local restaurant.
Then we will headed to Dhamrai to see the famous brass artisans at work. This artistic brass works have been inherited by this particular section of people since the historical paladynasty or 7th century AD. Here you can visit interesting ‘Hindu Rath’ which is like the Roman Chariot.
National Martyr’s Monument in Savar (35 km from Dhaka). In the nearby place Dhamrai, famous for its brass artisans, you can observe the making of various traditional utensils and religious objects. During the Bengali month of Ashar (June-July) the colorful Hindu festival ‘Ratha Jatra’ takes place here. The large ‘Rath’, similar to a Roman chariot, can be seen throughout the year.
On the way back we will stop at the beautiful Jahangir Nagar University campus, famous for the flocks of migratory birds visiting the many lakes in winter.
